I started 2016 by moving to Colombia by myself. Such a big decision terrified me, but I did it anyway. Now I work in Bogotá, Colombia as a marketing writer and blogger.
I have a background in broadcast journalism. I graduated from college with a degree in Communication a few years ago. I started working for a national media company while in college. In the span of three years, I was promoted from a radio traffic reporter, to a news reporter to the morning news anchor in a top 50 radio market.
Working in radio was rewarding and a great way to start my career, but it was never my end game. I moved to South America to learn more about Latin American culture and improve my Spanish.
If you haven’t guessed already, I love to travel. I took my first international trip when I was 17 years old as part of a student ambassador program in Japan. I also studied abroad in Morocco. Here are some more countries I have hit: The Bahamas, Honduras, Costa Rica, Peru, Mexico, Spain, England and Portugal.
I started this blog so I could have more freedom to write about what I wanted, not just the top news stories of the day. Thanks for reading and feel free to keep up with my experiences in Colombia through my social media accounts. Shoot me a message if you have any questions or suggestions.
